There were 9,147 house and rural property sales across regional South Australia over the twelve months ending March 2018; a reduction of 1.3%. The fall in settled sales activity was concentrated across the rural and agricultural property sector where settled sales activity was down 3.2% while the number of residential house sales held firm over the year. While settled sales trended slightly lower, the gross value of sales increased over the year, rising by 8.5% to reach $3.1 billion. The gross value of residential house sales was up 3.3% over the year while the value of rural and agricultural property sales jumped 16.9% higher. The second most active region was the Mid-North, recording 1,659 residential house sales and 1,065 rural property sales, with transactional activity falling by 3.2% and 2.3% over the year respectively. The largest rise in settled sales activity was centred around the broad Outback region of South Australia, where residential sales activity rose to 715 sales (+8.2%), albeit from a relatively low base.
